Our first adventure from Dubois Wyoming !

We arrived in Dubois, WY and got our site all set up and shortly after that Larry and Clarissa came from there camp site to ours and we went to Jackson, Wyoming to start another adventure. Jackson is the home of Jackson Hole Ski Resort and the town was just as busy in the summer as I imagine it would be in winter. In the middle of town there is a large community park that has four very interesting entrances and try as I may there is no way I can describe a huge pile of Elk antlers! When I asked someone where all the antlers come from I was told that the Elk winter in and around the city park. When they shed their antlers the city workers have to pick them up and this is what they have done with them. While riding around town we noticed other properties with antler arches.

The city pougtark has three other entrances just like this one.

Did I mention the it was really busy in this town so finding a place to eat was going to be a challenge. We came across a place called “The Cowboy Bar” and since it said no minors we thought it might be quicker. Not sure if it was faster but I don’t think I have ever been in a bar where the bar stools were saddles and wouldn’t you know it I screwed up getting a photo of one:(

On the way to Jackson we stopped a couple of times trying to get a good view of the Grand Teton Mountains but it was to no avail. It seems that there are so many forest fires burning in California and Oregon the the smoke blowing east is causing an “Air Quality Issue” I surely do hope it clears up.

Looking across the Wind River Trying to see the Teton Mountains through the smoke?

On the way back from Jackson we managed to get stopped by a herd of buffalo crossing the highway. They really were not in any hurry until a park ranger came along and blew his siren at them.

This was the herd that stopped traffic!
This was the last of the stragglers that the park ranger encouraged to cross, and he was a big one!

Well I wonder what we will get into tomorrow!
