Our Third Trip to Florida
We got up on November 3 and after waiting almost 2 hours to vote we came home, hooked up the car to the RV and hit the road. Due to our late start the first stop was in Emporia, VA for the night. While I was walking Edgar I met a fellow traveler from Quebec, Canada who was headed to Florida and I we got to talking about how difficult it was for the Canadians to get out of their country. It appears that they are not allowed to drive out so in order to get his wife and his RV out of Canada he had to fly from Canada to Plattsburg, NY a short 35 minute ride that cost him almost $1000.00 for the two of them. Once he got to NY he took possession of his RV and toad at the airport. It only cost him a little over $2000.00 to get his RV and car hauled to NY by a commercial carrier. It was legal for a person to load the vehicles onto a flatbed trailer and haul them but the owner could not drive them. He then proceeded to tell me about how much it cost him for supplemental health insurance. All I can say is that it must have been really cold where he lived or he really liked the heat of Florida. The next morning we got going and stopped for the night in Kingsland, GA where we met one of Judy’s cousins for dinner we spent a few hours talking about family members, camping and other stuff. It is always fun to catch up with family. Finally on November 5 we arrived at Rainbow Village in Zephyrhills which is an over 55 Resort and RV park. We will be here for two months and as I am writing this we only have a couple of weeks left. It has been a struggle finding good WIFI access here in the park but as time has passed some of the inside areas are starting to be open so now I have reliable Wi-Fi access. Pictured below is our home away from home waiting to hit the road. I will have more post coming soon!
