Wall Drug, the South of the Border of the west!

As we were driving west on Route 90 we started to see signs advertising ” Visit Wall Drug” at least 150 miles before we would reach it so of course we had to stop. Since we are travelling in a very large RV it took us a while to find a place to park but once parked it was interesting. It gives the appearance of sever small stores but once you walk in you realize that it is all the same store. Since we all have been in towns like this I didn’t take many pictures but let me say it is well worth stopping to see this place.

Yes, Wall Drug is a tourist trap but it is one of the gateways into the Bad Lands of SD. Rumor has it that the Bad Lands was the only piece of property that the both the Indians and the settlers could agree on, neither of them wanted it! Although we didn’t stop on the way to Rapid City we did come back to visit so while I am talking about them here are some photos.

There is so much desolation to be seen.
Yet sometimes there is a lot of color too!
Several shades of brown.

Well it is on to Rapid City for a few days, hopefully I can get at least one more post published before we lose this great WIFI where we are.
